Dave (Moose) Hearnden and Maria Alderman - nb DaisyBobOur boat is a NB all steel construction, 64ft in length, made about 1990, for Oxfordshire Hire boat company (on the Oxford canal). For various reasons, the boat was leased to a Clifton hire boat company near Rugby, where they used the boat for most of it's working life, her name at the time was Faversham. She was taken back to Oxfordshire Hire Boat for disposal at the end of the season 1999. had decided to buy a boat, after taking advice, reading the books etc, I started to look around, Faversham as she was then was the first boat I looked at, but remembering the adage never buy the first you see, I travelled over 500 miles that weekend looking at boats, in total I must have covered several thousand miles but in the end I went back to Faversham took friends to see her, and made the deal. After the survey etc, I become her proud owner February 2000. Our home mooring is at Stanstead Abbotts on the River Lee, we spend most off our time on DaisyBob, as we are currently carrying out a refit, we have started on the front half of the boat and will do the work in three parts. Basically come through the front doors and that will be a permanent double bed, down a narrow corridor and on the right is the bathroom will full size bath/shower and portaloo. Back down he corridor and you then end up in the kitchen this will be the third part, through what will be a C shape kitchen, this will lead to a lounge area (second part), which will include a wood stove, connected to two radiators. By the back door is gas central heating boiler, this will supply two radiators and one towel rail, plus hot water. |
