Steve Haywood - nb Justice

Justice was built in 1990 by Wychwood Narrowboats, a small Oxfordshire based company that produced about a dozen boats around the same period. She was exhibited, unfitted, at the National that same year.

She is 57ft 6inches long and powered by a 1933 Lister JP3, a former GPO engine which is situated in a separate engine room in front of a traditional back cabin.

Justice is unusual in not being a ‘through boat,’ and a steel bulkhead divides the craft into two separate sections. She was fitted by Bill Jones in Banbury which is still, officially, her home port; though she travels widely and her last three winters have been spent respectively near Manchester, in Bristol and at Fradley.

She has attained a certain celebrity by being featured in two Waterways World cruising videos.
