Part one – The Stroudwater
In near perfect walking weather the crews of (ex) Augustus, Just Heaven and (ex) Uncle Mort gathered above the restored top lock of what was once known as The Eastington Flight and adjacent to the ongoing works intended to finally rejoin the Stroudwater Canal with the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal at Saul Junction. We walked (some might say trudged) along the restored Stroudwater for 4+ miles Stroud, meeting the crew of (ex) Jannock at The Yard Cafe & Kitchen for some pleasant comestibles and amiable company. Thence a No 64 bus delivered us back to the starting point.

Part two – Bristol Harbourside
Even more perfect weather found the crews of (ex) Augustus, Just Heaven and (ex) Uncle Mort meeting up in the Bristol city centre, arriving by various buses and trains. Joined by Rachel (Bristol dwelling one time crew of Augustus) and locals Bruce and Margaret Paul of “Lucky B” (a first time Cutweb social for them). We saw the Corn Exchange, mv Balmoral, several historic cranes, Matthew of Bristol, the M shed, SS Great Britain, Banksy’s girl, Underfall’s Yard, Cumberland Basin, Brunel’s “other” bridge (if you know you know) and much much more. Lunch by Underfalls and a water bus trip all the way back to Temple Meads.

A grand day out. Thanks to all for showing up and contributions to whole event.
